The Mending Shed employs a full-time repair staff, with repairmen specializing in many different areas of expertise. We perform almost all repairs within a few days, at the fairest price around. We also offer free estimates on any household item repair, with repairmen standing by to personally answer your important questions.

We maintain a vast library of replacement parts for use and reference in our repairs. Please select your desired department from the list above.  Major Appliances

Supported Brands: Admiral, Caloric, Crosley, Estate, Frigidaire, Gibson, General Electric, Hotpoint, Jenn Air, Kelvinator, KitchenAid, Magic Chef, Maycor, Maytag, O'Keefe & Merrit, RCA, Roper, Speed Queen, Tappan, Westinghouse, Whirlpool.

With such an enormous inventory of parts, it would be a shame if we couldn't install each and every one of them for you. Don't worry - we usually can. Sorry, no pick-up or delivery service available.

What do we repair?
Ovens, dryers, washers, dishwashers, and refrigerators made by any of our supported brands. A word on refrigerators. We cannot repair or replace anything that would involve freon. This would include compressor repair.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a major appliance is 2-3 days with the availability of parts. Or 1-2 weeks if the parts must be ordered from one of our distributors.

How much will this cost?
Since so much can go wrong and take different amounts of time, repair costs vary. Please call for an estimate.

Warranty Repair
We do not carry any authorizations on warranty repair for any major appliance brand. However, if it is still under our 90 day warranty, we will replace and repair anything involved in the intitial repair ONLY.

 Power Tools

Supported Brands: Black & Decker, Bosch, Delta, DeWalt, Emglo, Hitachi, Makita, Milwaukee, Porter Cable, Senco, Skil, Stanley-Bostitch.

Whether your tool is throwing sparks or just seen better days, we can help. With repairmen who have spent years in their field, they have an answer for everything. We are an Authorized Service Center for Black & Decker, DeWalt, Stanley-Bostitch and a Warranty Service Center for Senco.

What do we repair?
We repair 99% of power tools made by our supported brands. Sorry, NO Mason Rivet Guns or gas driven tools except those made by our supported brands. Pneumatic, Electric, Cordless or corded, we'll see anything under the moon. Just bring it in and speak with our friendly repairmen for a free, quick over-the-counter estimate and consultation.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a power tool is 1-2 days with the availability of parts. Or 1 to 1 1/2 weeks if the parts must be ordered from one of our distributors. Compressors will take 2-3 days.

How much will this cost?

Warranty Repair
Manufacturer Warranty repair work will only be done on Black & Decker, DeWalt, Stanley-Bostitch and Senco brand products. If you have a product that is still under manufacturer's warranty and would like to bring it in for repair, you will need either the original receipt or a date of purchase. Our 90 day warranty covers parts and labor for anything involved in the initial repair ONLY.

 Power Wheels

As an Authorized Service Center for Power Wheels, there's nothing we can't do for any motorized vehicle under that name. We have skilled and experienced Power Wheels technicians standing by to get your vehicle up and running in minutes.

What do we repair?
We will repair any Power Wheels vehicle given the availability of parts. Power Wheels discontinues many parts each year.

How long will it take?
All repair and warranty work for Power Wheels is done while you wait. The average wait time is 15-20 minutes. If we do not have some of the parts that are needed for the repair, you may be asked to bring the vehicle back when the parts are received.

How much will this cost?
Warranty work will cost you nothing. Any repair outside of the warranty will generally be $20+labor. Please note that this price is NOT final. Only an estimate.

All of our repair work comes with a 90 day warranty.

Warranty Repair
All Power Wheels vehicles come with a one-year Manufacturer Warranty. As a service center for Power Wheels, we do the repairs locally. You will need a date of purchase or the original receipt if warranty repair is needed. Our 90 day warranty covers parts and labor for anything involved in the initial repair ONLY.

Recall Information
In 1998, Mattel's Fisher-Price Power Wheels division issued a recall of all their 12-volt Power Wheels vehicles because of a weak battery connector (white) that could malfunction on rare occasion. The recall upgrade work must be performed by an authorized Power Wheels service center where the vehicle's electrical system is inspected and necessary recall work is performed. Although the recall was instigated several years ago, there are many operating Power Wheels vehicles that still require the recall.

To determine whether your Power Wheels vehicle requires recall work, Mattel has provided an online recall information form that will give you further recall information tailored to your particular vehicle.

 Personal Care

Supported Brands: Braun, Norelco, Remington(accessory parts), Wahl, Waterpik.

We repair most any electric personal care item you may have. We are an authorized service center for both Braun and Norelco brands. Repairs and their cost depend mainly on the availability of parts. This may vary for certain brands or products.

What do we repair?
We repair blowdryers, hairclippers/trimmers, massagers, irons, WaterPik oral irrigators, and electric razors and shavers. However, there are some products out there that are unrepairable or more convenient and inexpensive to purchase new. Curling irons, hair straighteners, electric toothbrushes, and Panasonic or Hitachi electric razors are all items that fall into that category.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a personal care appliance is 1-2 days with the availability of parts. Or 2 sometimes even 3 weeks if the parts must be ordered from one of our distributors.

How much will this cost?

 Clocks / Lamps

Supported Types:

• Clocks -- Wind-up, Cuckoo, small alarm, grandfather clocks. (NO watches or electric clocks.)
• Lamps -- Floor lamps, desk lamps, table lamps. (NO neon or flourescent lamps.)

We realize that some things mean too much to throw away - even after all these years. So we take care of every clock and lamp that we handle. We've seen thousands and hope to see thousands more. From the antique heirlooms from decades ago, to the newly produced modern styles, we can get (and keep) most of them running for years to come.

What do we repair?
We repair any of the supported types. If there are ever any questions to what we can and cannot repair for you, please call or stop in.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a lamp is 1 to 2 days with the availability of parts. Or 2 to 3 weeks without. Clocks will take 1 to 2 weeks with parts and 2 to 3 weeks without. This amount of time is necessary for a repair given the higher complication rate of clocks. We must test everything we repair, and this time frame ensures that we have the proper amount to guarantee our work.

As industries are slowly phasing out parts for small appliances, it's increasingly hard to service them. Being an Authorized Service Center for KitchenAid and Presto, we take the frustration out of repairs.

What do we repair?
KitchenAid Stand Mixers, Blenders, Food Processors and Hand Mixers. Bamix Hand Mixers. Presto Small Appliances. Any brand of Microwave if parts are available.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a small appliance is 2 to 3 days with the availability of parts. Or 1 - 2 weeks if the parts must be ordered and depending on the location of the distributor.

How much will this cost?

Manufacturer Warranty repair is available for KitchenAid and Presto Small Appliances only. You will need to know the Date of Purchase. The original receipt would be helpful as well, but not necessary. Our 90 day warranty covers parts and labor for anything involved in the initial repair ONLY.

 Vacuums

Supported Brands: Bissell, Dirt Devil, Electrolux, Eureka, Hoover, Kirby, Oreck, Panasonic, Sanitaire, Sharp, Shop-Vac.

If you're not getting the performance you need out of your vacuum, maybe it's time to bring it in for servicing. Our excellent vacuum repairman is ready and willing to make your vacuum suck like new. Bring your vacuum in and personally speak with him at the counter.

What do we repair?
We repair any vacuum made by our supported brands. Upright, hand vac, canister vac, etc.

How long will it take?
The average time for a repair on a vacuum is 1 day with the availability of parts. Or 1 - 2 weeks if the parts must be ordered and depending on the location of the distributor.
